Is Clause Two a law firm?

Clause Two is a legal consultancy, not a law firm. Our lawyers provide expert support in unreserved legal matters — primarily in respect of commercial contract law.

Is Clause Two regulated by the SRA?

Clause Two is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and hence clients do not have access to the SRA Compensation Fund (which aims to compensate users of legal services for losses when other avenues, such as professional indemnity insurance, are insufficient). However, all our legal services are delivered by a lawyer who is regulated in their personal capacity by the SRA. This means that our lawyers must comply with the same high ethical and professional standards that you would expect from any other regulated legal professional.

Does Clause Two have PI insurance?

Unlike law firms regulated by the SRA, Clause Two is not required to hold professional indemnity insurance meeting the SRA's minimum terms and conditions. However, Clause Two maintains £1,000,000 of professional indemnity insurance on a voluntary basis to give clients additional reassurance and protection when using our services.

Is Clause Two VAT registered?

Clause Two is VAT registered and its VAT registration number is GB 503124742.

Is Clause Two registered with the ICO?

Clause Two is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under the Data Protection Act 2018 and its registration reference is ZC031483.

What if I have a complaint?

We work hard to provide the highest standards of client care and service, so we hope you will never have reason to complain. However, all our lawyers have a professional duty to establish, maintain and provide an adequate complaints handling system. You may make a complaint or request a copy of our complaints policy at any time by contacting us at complaints@clausetwo.com.
